Country star Trace Adkins needs no help in rising to the top of the country music charts, but he did make a strategic career move when he signed onto Toby Keith’s label Show Dog Universal; a new Adkins album is set to arrive from the label this coming August. The musician recently talked to the Green Bay Gazette about his label change, saying, “I entered into this thing because I have a lot of respect for Toby. I’m finishing up this new record, and when I get ready to make that decision on what the first single is going to be, I’m going to sit down with him and we’ll go over the stuff, because I value his opinion.” Perhaps a collaborative single is in their future?
The upcoming album will signal Adkins’ 11th studio effort. He has been on the road since November alongside Martina McBride for their Shine All Night trek.
