Houston Texans Tickets- Green Put on Injured Reserve
The Houston Texans may have tallied a hard-fought 16-6 win over the Cleveland Browns during week 12, but they lost one of their star players. Running back Ahman Green injured his left knee during the game, which was severe enough to force the Texans to place him on injured reserve. He was injured in the third quarter of the game. Luckily for the Texans, they have already been investing in another running back this season, Steve Slaton. As of week 12, Slaton has already tallied 774 yards and six touchdowns. Also at running back, the Texans have third year pro Ryan Moats, who was on the practice squad earlier this year before being moved to the active roster on October 26.
Green is no rookie in the NFL. 2008 marked the veteran’s 11th season in the NFL. Before coming to the NFL, Green was a standout at Nebraska and part of the 1995 team that won the national title. He entered the draft after his junior year and was selected in the third round by the Seattle Seahawks in 1998. That first year, he played in all 16 games bud did not start any. He had 35 carries for 209 yards and one touchdown. He again didn’t start in 1999, but played in 14 games, tallying 120 yards on 26 carries. He was traded to the Green Bay Packers before the 2000 season. That year, he started in 11 out of the 16 games he played in, tallying 1,175 yards and 10 touchdowns on 263 carries.
